Mayor wishes the 2016 Class the best of luck
Striving for success without hard work is like trying to harvest where you have not planted.
It is that time of the year when our Grade 12s sit for their final examinations. It is a challenging period for everyone- educators, parents, grandparents, guardians and other family members. This period requires them to provide their children with extra love, care and support while they prepare and write their Grade 12 exams. As the Council for Amajuba District Municipality we assure them of our unconditional support as they face this important gateway to their professional life.
Our Grade 12 learners should be reminded that they have travelled a long journey through school life. You have spent at least 12 years preparing for this time. You must remember the first days of your school life when you started your Grade 1, when you would hardly spell your name, when it was difficult to hold the pen, when you refused to go to school and your parents would struggle to get you ready for school. That journey is what brought you here! So you cannot throw it all away now!
Our greatest plea is that you must conduct yourselves with honesty during exams. Cheating will not help you but it might cause unnecessary problems for you.
There is some connection between success and action. Successful people keep on moving. They commit mistakes, but never give up.
There might be possibilities that you don’t do well as you would have wished, but do understand that it is not the end of it all. There are many other options that will be availed for you. But obviously do not go to that examination centre with “failure” on your mind.
We wish you all the best of luck. We are fully behind you and we trust you will do us proud.
Good luck to you all and remember to pray.
Cllr Dr MG Ngubane
Mayor: Amajuba District Municipality
