Heavy rains and flooding in parts of KwaMashu, Inanda, Verulam and Ntuzuma in KwaZulu-Natal left a number of homes flooded and damaged.

Disaster management teams sent by Cobra under the management of MEC and ANC Treasurer Cde Nomusa Dube-Ncube have been dispatched to the affected areas.

Cde Zikalala interacted with the affected families pledging accelerated government intervention to assist the families. Future plans are afoot to alleviate the plight of the community along flood-prone area through infrastructure to mitigate any future disasters.
