1. On Friday 2017-11-10 at approx. 00:45 Station Officers Captain Msimang and Captain Mpungose were patrolling the Station area, the Station hotspots regarding Stock Theft and other related crimes.

2. Whilst they were patrolling along R34, they spotted white Mazda sedan with NN 54613 registration numbers, and they started to monitor this vehicle as it was suspicious with four (4) African males.

3. Members eventually stopped this vehicle with an intention of searching the vehicle and its occupants. When searching the boot of the vehicle members found four (4) live sheep inside the boot, estimated value of R6000.00

4. The occupants of the vehicle were questioned about the ownership of the sheep and the reason for transporting the stock at night but, not valid or satisfactory answers were given. Therefore all four suspects were arrested and recovered stock was entered on the SAP 13. The vehicle to transport the stock was as well confiscated and kept at the Police Station. Suspects arrested are 43, 28 and two 20 years old.

5. Utrecht Stock Theft Unit members were informed about the recovery and they took over investigation and are trying to link the recovery to the recently reported, Theft of Stock where twenty four (24) sheep were reportedly stolen.

6. Arrested suspects appeared before the Utrecht Magistrate court on 2017-11-10. The work done by the members is highly appreciated because Stock stealing in the Station area is a major concern.
