On Monday 2017-12-11 at about 01:30 Const TA Mthombeni and Const IS Mtshali were conducting patrols along R33 when they noticed the motor vehicle travelling on the same road ahead of them without rear light the members circulated the m/v on the radio and confirmed that it was not stolen out of curiosity members decided to stop and search the motor vehicle. Upon opening the canopy they discovered one African male sleeping and two(2) big green bags. They asked the owner of the bag, African female admitted that it was her own bags then police searched the bags before all three(3) suspects and discovered that they were full of dagga they then arrested them for Possession of dagga and conveyed them to the station where they were detained for possession of dagga. Upon weighing of dagga it was discovered that is 59.8 kg the street market value amounts to plus minus R 100000-00.
The driver, the passenger and the one male at the back of the van were all charged for Possession of dagga. They will appear at Utrecht Magistrate Court today 2017-12-11.
The Station Commander commended the members on the job well done because if there were not vigilant this dagga was going to be transported somewhere else
